Noddfa Community Centre

Noddfa is one of two community centre’s within the village of Glyncorrwg.  Historically, Noddfa was a senior citizens centre and has a traditional layout of main hall, side room and kitchen and still houses many traditional voluntary groups.  Recently it has been adapted for disabled access featuring a new disabled toilet and external ramp access.

Glyncorrwg Miners Memorial Hall

Glyncorrwg Miners Memorial hall is a hub for local residents and regularly hosts larger community events such as the village carnival, live entertainment, award ceremonies and specialist film screenings. The hall is home to many local clubs and societies who meet there on a regular basis.

Gwynfi Miners Community Hall

 Blaengwynfi Community Hall is situated on Jersey Road and is at the centre of everyday life in the village.  Facilities include the local library, a fully equiped gym, Boxing club, confereance rooms and space to be used for regular club meets or for specialist events.

Pontrhydyfen Community Centre

Pontrhydyfen Community Centre is conveniently located at the centre of the village. Its modern facilities allow it to cater for regular group meetings and many other organised events.

Blue Scar Club Pontrhydyfen

 Situated just below the Community Centre is the blue Scar Club. Its facilities cater for Club meetings and special events including live music and non theatrical and non theatrical events.

Croeserw Community Enterprise Centre

Croeserw Community Enterprise Centre, which has been part funded by the European Regional Development Fund through the Welsh Government, opened its doors to the public in September 2013 and provides a facility that not only houses essential and traditional community activities but through its purpose built training rooms, provides the community with a wide range of skills, learning and enterprise opportunities. The new centre has been built on the former Rhiw Lech View site and the old community centre has been demolished with a lovely new children’s play area  installed in its place.

Providing flexible accommodation for community enterprises and small start up businesses, the centre includes a wide range of community facilities such as a dedicated youth and IT training area and two fully equipped workshops for construction skills and hair and beauty training courses. All rooms are available to hire at an affordable rate on an hourly or annual basis, with refreshments and/or catering available, as well as access to projectors, laptops, photocopier and much more. There is also an external floodlit games area, an open access computer area, training kitchen and a main hall with flexible staging and seating.
